Peak season. Coda adds trips during peak periods such as Holy Week, the Christmas break and long weekends, when Sagada fills up. Those extra departures are not always released online, so if the search shows nothing for your date, call the Quezon City station before assuming the bus is full.

Common mix-ups

Four things that catch out first-time Coda passengers

Each of these comes straight from how Coda describes its own service — and each is regularly misreported elsewhere.

Terminal

“Manila to Sagada” starts in Cubao

Coda has no terminal of its own in Manila city. Its Metro Manila station is the HM Transport Terminal on Monte De Piedad Street in Cubao, Quezon City. Listings that send you to PITX, Sampaloc or a Five Star terminal contradict Coda's own station page.

Route

It is not the Baguio road

Coda climbs through Nueva Vizcaya and Ifugao, passing Banaue and Bontoc on the way to Sagada. If you want to see Baguio or ride Halsema Highway, that is a different trip on different buses.

Discounts

Student, senior and PWD fares are booth-only

Coda requires discounted tickets to be bought at its terminal ticket booths so staff can check your ID. Book online and you pay the regular fare — there is no discount option in the online checkout.

Bus class

Two classes, a pile of names

On the booking site the choice appears as “45 seater without CR” or “35 seater with CR”. Elsewhere you will see Semi Deluxe, Deluxe, Express or Tourist for the first, and Super Deluxe or VIP for the second. CR means comfort room — the 35-seater is the one with a toilet.

Direct or via Baguio?

Manila to Sagada: Coda direct bus or the Baguio route

There are two common ways to get to Sagada by bus. Coda is the only direct option; the alternative splits the trip in Baguio.

Best forSleeping through, or stopping at BanaueAdding a day or two in Baguio

Baguio–Sagada buses are run by other companies, with departures concentrated in the morning, so an overnight bus into Baguio is the usual pairing.

Pack for the mountains

Before you ride

  • Bring a jacket. The bus is air-conditioned all night, and early mornings in Bontoc and Sagada are cold.
  • Pick your class for the toilet, not the price. Semi Deluxe has none; you rely on stopovers.
  • Carry the ID behind any discount. Discounted tickets are checked at the booth.
  • Keep a small bag at your seat. Snacks, water, a charger and your ticket — the hold stays shut between stations.
  • Arrive early in Cubao. At least 30 minutes, an hour on weekends and holidays.
Local entry rules

Check tourism requirements for your destination

Coda posts inbound-tourist guidance for Sagada, Bontoc, Banaue and Tinglayan on its Bus Trips page. The rules themselves are set by each municipality's tourism office and change from time to time, so confirm with the local tourism office before you travel.

Questions from riders

Coda Lines FAQ

Straight answers to the questions people ask before their first Coda trip north.

Where does the Coda Lines bus to Sagada leave from?

Coda Lines lists its Metro Manila station as the HM Transport Terminal on Monte de Piedad Street corner Maryland Street, Barangay Immaculate Concepcion, Cubao, Quezon City. Coda shares this terminal with HM Transport rather than running a terminal of its own in Manila.

Does Coda Lines depart from PITX, Sampaloc or the Five Star terminal?

Coda's own station list names only the HM Transport Terminal in Cubao, Quezon City for Metro Manila. Some listing sites name PITX, Sampaloc or the Five Star terminal instead. Go by the official station list and the boarding point on your ticket.

How long is the bus ride from Manila to Sagada?

Plan on roughly 11 to 13 hours from Cubao to Sagada on an overnight trip, depending on traffic and road conditions. Trips that end in Banaue or Bontoc are shorter.

How much is the Coda bus fare from Manila to Sagada?

Coda does not publish fares as text on its website. Booking listings in 2026 put a one-way Manila to Sagada seat at roughly PHP 1,225 to 1,300 in Semi Deluxe and roughly PHP 1,360 to 1,500 in Super Deluxe. Online bookings can add a service fee, so check the live price for your date.

What time does the Coda bus leave for Sagada?

Coda runs evening departures from Cubao, roughly between 7:30 PM and 11:30 PM, plus a morning trip around 8:00 AM on the 35-seater bus. Trips back from Sagada leave between about 7:30 AM and 3:45 PM. The live Coda Lines timetable on PHBus shows the exact times for your date, including extra peak-season trips.

Can I book Coda Lines tickets online?

Yes, for selected trips. Coda says only a limited number of trips are sold online, and extra peak-season trips may only be sold at its terminal booths. Use the search on this page to see what is bookable for your date.

Can I get a student, senior citizen or PWD discount online?

No. Coda requires passengers using student, senior citizen or PWD discounts to buy their tickets at a Coda terminal booth so staff can verify the ID. Online bookings are charged the regular fare.

Does the Coda bus to Sagada go through Baguio?

No. Coda's route climbs through Nueva Vizcaya and Ifugao, with stations in Aritao, Solano, Lagawe, Banaue and Bontoc before Sagada. The Baguio route along Halsema Highway is served by other bus companies.

Which Coda bus has a toilet on board?

The 35-seater bus, also sold as Super Deluxe or VIP, has an onboard toilet (CR). The 45-seater, sold as Semi Deluxe, Deluxe or Express, has none. Both make stopovers along the way for meals and restroom breaks.

Should I buy a Sagada ticket if I want to get off in Banaue?

Book the stop you actually need. Coda runs trips to Banaue and lists a Banaue station below the Tourist Information Center, so a Manila to Banaue ticket matches your seat and fare to your real destination.

Does Coda stop in Nueva Vizcaya?

Yes. Coda lists stations in Aritao at the Aritao Growth Center and in Solano across from Savemore on the highway.

Are there extra Coda trips during peak season?

Coda says additional trips may run during peak season. These are not always released online, so during holidays it is worth checking at the Cubao terminal or calling the station.

How do I contact Coda Lines?

Coda lists 0977 484 4414 and 0927 559 2197 for its Quezon City station and 0995 096 5970 for Sagada and its northern stations. The full contact page is on codalines.ph.

What should I bring on the overnight Coda bus?

Bring a jacket, because the air conditioning runs cold overnight and Cordillera mornings are chilly. Carry snacks and water, keep your ticket and ID within reach, and pack a small bag for the seat so you are not digging into the luggage hold at stopovers.

Is codalinesonlinebooking.ph the official Coda Lines website?

No. This is an independent traveller guide and is not run by Coda Lines Corp. The operator's official website is codalines.ph.

Where this information comes from

Official details, live timetable

Stations, addresses, phone numbers, the discount rule and the route list come from the official Coda Lines website. Coda posts its own timetable and fares only as images, so departure times on this page follow the live Coda Lines timetable on PHBus, powered by 12Go, which lists every scheduled trip with its bus class and current price.

That timetable is the one to trust for a specific night: extra peak-season trips appear there as Coda adds them, and prices update when fares change. The fare ranges quoted on this page are approximate summaries of 2026 listings.
